Weather Situation
A high will linger near New Zealand for several days, maintaining a ridge over
most of the state. A trough system is moving east across the southern and
central interior and will weaken on Thursday night. A new high will move into
the Tasman Sea on Sunday, maintaining the ridge.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 10 June
Partly cloudy. Medium chance of showers in the south, slight chance elsewhere.
Winds east to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light in the late afternoon.
Forecast for Thursday 11 June
Partly cloudy. Medium chance of showers, most likely in the late morning and
afternoon. Light winds becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day
then becoming light in the late afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to
